The star-shaped elastic intermediate element is the core functional component of the LX star coupling, which determines the flexibility, shock absorption and misalignment compensation performance of the entire coupling. This elastic element is usually made of high-performance polymer elastomer materials, with good elasticity, wear resistance, fatigue resistance and temperature adaptability. According to the performance and material of the elastic element, the LX star coupling can be divided into ordinary type, high elasticity type and high temperature resistant type. The ordinary type elastic element is made of conventional polyurethane elastomer, with moderate hardness, suitable for normal temperature, conventional load and general working conditions, which is the most widely used type; the high elasticity type elastic element is made of high-elasticity polymer material, with better flexibility and shock absorption effect, stronger misalignment compensation ability, suitable for occasions with large vibration, large shaft misalignment and requiring high buffer performance; the high temperature resistant type elastic element is made of special heat-resistant elastomer material, which can adapt to higher operating temperature environments, maintain stable elasticity and mechanical properties in high temperature conditions, not easy to soften or age, suitable for transmission systems working in high temperature environments such as metallurgy, baking equipment.

In addition, according to the torque transmission level, the LX star coupling can be divided into light load type, medium load type and heavy load type.
